During its history, which began in 1776, the United States has created a platform for its own and other constitutional states. The world's first constitution was adopted in Delaware on December 7, 1787. In more than two hundred years, these two political openings made the United States a leading player in democracy and the strongest in economic cooperation.
America first thinking
President Trump’s four-year term is best illustrated by an overemphasized strong verbal opinion leadership without interaction with its own operating environment. The “slow rush” of a political visionary in his own goals after strong outputs is no longer noticeable. In the substantive matters of politics, media visibility was more important than the substantive contents of the matters. Those who dared to disagree with the new style of the White House, were soon former advisers. This was exceptional in running the country.
The role of the country's leader is to create visions, i.e. visions of the future, and to form synergistic action programs to achieve them. This has not happened in the last four years. The most urgent task of the new president, Joe Biden, is to unite the nation and restore confidence in Americanism in the world. The time for mantras and mere proclamations is over.
Again, on the Delaware River
The American triangle is built between the individual, communality, and the state beginning with a lowercase letter. This is how America began to develop after the 16th / 17th centuries in the settlements formed on the east coast. After independence, European values mingled, as do traditional American, Latin, and other minority values. Coastal settlements were diverse centers of excellence along the European model. Communities interested in primary production moved west and inland. English became a common language for all. Education developed based on the needs of public education and economic activity in the state as its own administration without central government. Life came true “here-and-now” in reality.
After the Declaration of Independence of 1776, a process of development began, which resulted in the birth of the world’s first constitution in 1787. The first state in the world was born at the mouth of the Delaware River, laying the foundation for a new written constitution. The Constitution laid down the rights and obligations of the people towards the Community and later against the State based on the ideas of the European Enlightenment. The new way of thinking was not completed in an instant. been ready in an instant. In addition, state regulatory and defense mechanisms against external and internal threats had to be established under the central government.
Community vs. state
A bottom-up structure emerged in America, spreading from east to west in the central zone of North America. It later expanded to the west in the Pacific. The global perimeter closed when Europe was rediscovered at the other end of the Silk Road if it was still being transported from east to west. This development differed from the European West to the East and back. Neither America nor Europe recognized the equal life and functioning community in the regions. Territorial disputes arose, which are still unresolved in the north-south expansion of communities.
On all five continents, communality has existed before state development (the Altai primeval home on the old continent, the Native American community model on the American continents and the cradle of human development in Africa and many nomadic communities around the world, and the development and administration of education at the state level. The role of religion in the United States also differs from the practices of other countries because of civil liberty, which is a civil right.
Government in the United States
Isolation and a focus on one’s own affairs long dominated U.S. policy in the colonial endgame. At the time, the United States was also a user of power politics and a financier of reconstruction, but not an arsonist of wars. The roots of Americanism and the United States have been linked to opposition to colonial politics since the 18th century. Americanism also adapted to large-scale immigration from Europe. The adjustment began at the mouth of the Delaware River. The two communities were like houses carved from the same tree. Now is the time to renovate both houses.
State-centeredness became more common in Europe’s large states and smaller internationalizing countries in the 20th century. This state-led thinking led to two world wars in the aftermath of European colonial policy. The world now needs a similar, but different and cross-community global model of environmental governance. In the old-world order, the United States acted as an end to world wars. It was not until the 20th century that the United States itself learned to start wars in the crisis in Cuba, Grenada, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Under Trump, America has withdrawn from international agreements, conflicts, peacekeeping, and NATO financing cooperation.
Election content issues
In the longer term, a longer-term review brings added value, which makes the predictability of things and policies better. American media is open and transparent. Freedom of speech is a value. When the Soviet Union ended in 1991 when people lost faith in the future of their state. Double morality in policy making was known. However, there was no mechanism in the country’s politics to remedy things, even though, for example, the armed forces were the largest in the world. Military power will not help to keep the country together if the nation does not have a common understanding of what is right and what is wrong.
In this election, a moral issue (such as the issue of abortion) arose but was left behind at a later stage. President Trump appointed a new member of the Supreme Court under the election in a case of a different power situation during the Obama administration. Where is the morality of American politics? The same applies to the realization of human rights during the current leadership of the country in policing. The civil rights struggle continues as the “Black Lives Matter” movement and the first black woman to be elected vice president of the country in the 2020 elections.
The process of American change began in Delaware in the late 18th century. The country’s new White House leadership could visit the port of Delaware before taking office. There could still be found a ship with old valuables and papers among the migrants ’moving goods. In particular, more information is needed on “justice and fairness in law-making,” “income distribution in society,” “the social dimension in education,” “health insurance and social security,” in many states, and also in Washington’s central policy institutions.
2020 elections as a process
The U.S. election differs from European election practices because of the different division of labor and functioning of American society. In particular, the lesser role of central government in the governance of society is clearly visible. In the context of the 2020 elections, it became very clear that the functioning of the current system and the role of the states in the counting of votes needed to be changed in order to achieve greater coherence and clearer rules of procedure. The problem could be called validation of results instead of just calculating them.
The number of problems with the legitimacy of the conduct of elections could be significantly reduced if the general electoral acquis could be harmonized and clarified in the forthcoming elections between the Community and the central government. Situations like pandemics will increase rather than decrease in the world. More attention should also be paid to the language use of candidates and a “basic communication code” should be introduced to keep communication between candidates and nominators.
The less external structures (the judiciary) are involved in the process, the more reliable the election result on its own. Taking legal action is not the primary way to deal with internal policy matters. There is a need for dialogue and better functioning. If the president does not abide by the rule of law, the country’s wealth and the size of the police force will not matter in handling matters. Arbitrariness is never acceptable, even if various media portray fictional storytelling about the country’s history, for example, as the stories of the Wild West.
The American media has paid more attention than usual to election-related information. Outsiders are astonished by the disregard for civil jurisdictional issues related to the exercise of power by the president of the country in conflict situations. The incumbent President should abstain in situations of conflict and leave the matter to the nominating authority. According to the Constitution, the task of the president is to pursue the public interest, not his own interests.
Another divisive situation arises when legislation and the income distribution mechanism do not work between different sections of the people in the implementation of welfare policy. There has been no need for the means of socialism in the United States, but “going to the streets” has increasingly become a visible form of the existence of social problems in the country. An additional problem over the past four years has been the way the president presents things as truths without justifying them. No civilized society will accept this.
Over the past four years, the White House has also achieved worldwide success. Meetings with the leaders of North Korea and Russia, as well as the recognition of the three Arab states of Israel, are major achievements. Israel’s own decades of groundwork in dryland irrigation techniques in the Gulf region does not diminish the wider political significance of smoking the results.
Restoration of credibility
The President-elect has announced the priorities for his forthcoming term in the run-up to the election and in his victory speech. The problems of the past four years must first be rectified, before new challenges can be met. The January inaugural address has not yet been written, although its structure and preliminary content are already known to the new leadership. Time is also needed to bring about interaction between the president and voters after an election victory, where the focus shifts from the past to the future. Much also depends on the acceptance of the election result and the smooth running of the change of power.
The cause of the crisis in the credibility of the 2020 presidential election is the functioning and internal compatibility of the 1787 Constitution as the basis for today’s Americanism and U.S. state development. With the current regulatory framework, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a nation’s common vision of current problems and how to solve them. The citizens of the United States have the right to assess the functioning of their constitutions and the need to reform legislation.
